Lenny's Tristan

Check out some highlights of Leonard Bernstein's 1981 recording of Tristan und Isolde, with Hildegarde Behrens and Peter Hoffman in the title roles. It seems underappreciated, but I find it lovely. Bernstein's feeling and distinctive touch come across in every note, lending this Tristan a a surprising warmth difficult to find elsewhere. More thoughts about it over here.
